Thomas K. Lee is the founding member of TKL Architect and TKL International Limited. He brings with him over 17 years of design and practical experience on a variety of building types and styles. His ability to quickly identify and solve complex issues, prioritize critical tasks and organize team of professionals has enabled Thomas to consistently deliver a high-quality product to his clients.
Mr. Lee’s project list is both diverse and encompassing, ranging from high-end custom homes to multi-phased planned communities. Building types within this comprehensive body of work include apartments, hospitals, hotels, commercial complexes, transit hubs, cable terminus facilities and traffic management centres.
Mr. Lee is formally trained both as an Architect in the UBC School of Architecture and a Building Technologist at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. This dual education has enabled Thomas to have a holistic vision of the built environment. His designs are ergonomically & ecologically conscious all the while backed with sound technical detailing.
Thomas first qualified as an Architect in British Columbia, Canada in 1994. He has since extended his talents into the United States, including licenses to practice Architecture in the States of Colorado, Massachusetts, Montana, Oregon, Utah and Washington.
Notable Canadian projects include the amalgamation of the City of Ottawa and its 11 surrounding municipalities and the renovation of Lakeridge Health Centre in Oshawa, Ontario.
Samples of projects in the United States include the extensive AT&T/ TCI fibre distribution re-build in Washington, Oregon and Utah, the World Wide Fibre/ 360networks Trans-Atlantic Cable Terminal Facilities and the first 5 star hotel in Utah for St. Regis in Deer Valley.
In 2006 Thomas had an opportunity to work in China. This experience opened a whole new perspective on Architecture and business for Mr. Lee, which led to the subsequent establishment of TKL International Limited in Hong Kong and TKL Consulting (Beijing) Company Ltd in China. Samples of work in China include Poly Leng Quan for Poly (Beijing) Real Estate Co. Ltd. and exclusive villas for Beijing Dong Long Real Estate Development Co. Ltd.
